WOW WHAT A YEAR!
2018 was BL’s first full year as a group… and boy, did we werk! We had so many accomplishments as a group and individually, we’d be remiss if we didn’t share!
As a new group, BL started performing much more frequently in 2018. We had 11 shows total, 6 of them being in the last 4 months of 2018! Three of those shows were competitions, and two of them were our very own Blacklight Gets Lit show! We got to travel to Indianapolis to perform halftime at UIndy’s homecoming game, and traveled to Long Island to perform at our first wedding! We also performed at a Voice Conference, a charity gala, and a high school’s Halloween party. Needless to say, we had a VARIETY of gigs!
Individually, we SLAYED 2018…
Shannon had her second child! The rest of us can’t fathom her strength performing at 7 months pregnant…. As if that wasn’t enough, she ALSO built a $80,000 recording studio for the new curriculum and class she developed from scratch at Marlborough High School.
Diana moved into a cute new apartment with her boyfriend, vacationed in Europe, and roadtripped all the way across America.
Anna led two of her high school a cappella groups to ICHSA victory, and planned 6 very successful events, including a Dad Joke Battle, and the East Coast Beatbox Battle!
Arsanuos got a new job
Tyler got a new, higher paying job!
Craig finished his masters degree in Vocal Pedagogy, and won 1st place at the East Coast Beatbox Battle for tag teams with his partner Michael from Ember Vocals.
We CAN’T wait to see what 2019 bring! We already have a few gigs lined up, which you can check out in the “Events” tab at the top of the page.
